PSG, Borussia Dortmund Get Ready for UEFA Semi-Final
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will have an opportunity to regain some of their dignity as they take on Borussia Dortmund in leg two of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) semi-final tonight, Tuesday 7 May.
PSG will enter the match 1-0 down after a defeat to the German team at their homestead of Signal Iduna Park last week. This time, the two clubs will face off at Parc des Princes Stadium in Paris, France.
Luis Enrique, manager of the Parisians, sternly said during a pre-match interview that the objective for tonight is to win, regardless of scoring margin.
“The aim isn’t to win by two goals, but to win. If you think you have to score two goals that seems like a big target,” he explained.
“We just want to play and score. If we score in the 89th minute, it will carry on. We don’t need to score right away, we just want to win the game,” Enrique concluded.
Historically, each time the two teams have met, the winning point has gone to the hosts. Fortunately for Enrique, pundits have predicted that this match will go in PSG’s favour.
Tomorrow, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich will also go head-to-head in their own UCL semi-final match. The winners of the two clashes will compete for the title on 1 June.
